WHAT IS RESTORATIVE PRACTICE?
Restorative Practice is a transformative approach to shifting climate through a lens of equity and social justice. Restorative Practice invites a cultural shift from doing things “TO” others to moving into a “WITH” space. This is a way of allowing for inclusive decision-making, where all stakeholders have an opportunity to be heard, allowing for ownership and effective accountability when understanding the greater impact of one’s actions. Being proactive and setting the foundation through community-building spaces, individuals are less likely to disrupt the community as they tend to feel like active participants in the space. When harm does take place, the processing is much more reflective, leading to growth and learning about how and why they may have caused that harm. Individuals are then able to problem solve ways to restore the community back to its original state. Restorative Practice allows all parties a space to share and be a part of the solution.

"Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it."
Fallon Henderson
"We but mirror the world. All the tendencies present in the outer world are to be found in the world of our body. If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. This is the divine mystery supreme. A wonderful thing it is and the source of our happiness. We need not wait to see what others do.”
~ Mahatma Gandhi
